Event Details

The Ed Psych Practice is delighted to invite you to a series of workshops focusing on:

  • Communication: Early Intervention and Moving Forward

Early language development is vital for learning to progress at a satisfactory pace. Our Speech and Language Therapists look at the implications of weaknesses with speech and language and the impact on learning. They share strategies that can be put in place to support developmental progress.

  • Boosting Attainment and Confidence in Learners with Specific Learning Difficulties

Dyslexia, dyspraxia, and weaknesses with working memory and processing speed can impact on a student’s learning progress. Our Educational Psychologists and Specialist Teachers discuss common problems with learning that are observed in the classroom and the support that can be put in place to enhance learning.

  • What Is Child Psychotherapy? Transparency, privacy, confidentiality and lying

You may already work with children therapeutically or with other professionals who do. This session is an exploration of some central issues in therapy. The issues of transparency, privacy and confidentiality are key to the art of psychotherapy. How we view the concept of lying is a salient issue for all parents, teachers and professionals who work with children. By looking more closely at the concept and meaning of lying we may begin to understand how our own relationship with the truth impacts upon children.

The workshops will run simultaneously so please ensure that you mention which workshop you would like to attend in your booking. We would like you to indicate two preferences as there will be limited places in each workshop. We will, of course, aim to give you your first preference.
